A Few Things to Keep in Mind When Travelling to Japan

Getting ready to study abroad in Japan can be quite hectic if you don’t know how to prepare. It’s important to know what to pack for your great adventure. Things like clothes, shoes, toiletries and gadgets. Be wise when deciding what you may really need to bring that you will only be using.

Get some idea of what Japan’s culture and way of life so you’re not overwhelmed. It’s also good to know how to get around Tokyo, where to eat and get other basic necessities for the duration of your stay.

Getting around Tokyo is not that difficult. The KCP campus in Japan is a five-minute walk from the Shinjuku Gyoenmae subway station (Marunouchi line), or a 10-minute walk from Shinjuku San-Chome station (Toei Shinjuku line), an ideal location for your study abroad program in Tokyo.

Trains and bullet trains are a fast and efficient way to travel around the city. You can also take in the sights by walking or biking around. It’s a great way to discover new places and get to know the locals.

Know some Japanese cultural etiquette

Japan is a country that prides itself with its cultural traditions, some of which are centuries old. Many traditions are meant to honor religious deities or commemorate historical events. Japan also has numerous festivals that are simply worth witnessing. Here are some Japanese traditions that have remained timeless through the years. There are also a few things to remember such as the proper way to use chopsticks, tipping no-no’s and do’s and dont’s when riding the train.
