Japan Travelogue Series: Miyashita Park
Miyashita Park (宮下公園) was built in 1930, but was restored in 2017 to be a park three to four floors up overlooking Shibuya. You can lie in the grass, drink some coffee at the café, all while listening to the sound of the Yamanote Line trains meandering by. It’s a great place to get away from all the crowds and relax, while not having to take the time to go outside the city.
The park is an outdoor haven in the middle of a bustling city where you can find a beach volleyball court, a climbing wall, and even a skateboard park. Right underneath the park, there are traditional Japanese style restaurants which you can dine in at or get take out.
Take a break and enjoy the spot of green in the heart of Tokyo at Miyashita Park!
