Being able to talk with others about a broad range of topics.
Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?
Not really. I found dormitory housing convenient but the space was small and tough to keep clean for me. I think this is just aatter of not being used to Japanese apartments.

Take the time to figure out what works for you so you can enjoy school and your time in the country
