It's a fantastic program.

Celine from 2014

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The trip to Toshimaen Amusement Park was a great, fun way to spend the day with my classmates! I also really enjoyed the opportunity to visit Kamakura, though I wish we could have slowed down just a bit and enjoyed ourselves more or go more places while we were there.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The textbooks provided were of great help. Self-study and the occasional pair practice conversation with an American friend also helped.

What did you find most valuable in the Culture Course?

Getting to see Japan, and going places I probably wouldn't have visited had I not been taken there.

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

It's a fantastic program and at that price compared to others that can cost like $26,000 or more for the same amount of time, this program is a wonderful and comparatively cheap investment in a persons future as they learn a new language, and meet new friends from far away places!

Any other comments or suggestions?

When doing a homestay, just make sure you tell your host family that you want to do stuff with them on weekends or they may assume you don't want to hang out them.

If you are looking to study Japanese in Japan, I highly recommend KCP International. For starters, it’s in Tokyo! (And who doesn’t want to be in Tokyo?) KCP is in an extremely convenient location and using public transportation you can pretty much get around anywhere.
