Before taking KCP I had never taken a Japanese class taught only in Japanese. I thought I would really struggle with comprehending the lessons however I was able to understand the professors majority of the time.

You shouldn’t be worried about the teachers they’re all so nice and care about your studies. Have fun and if you want to learn Japanese this is the place.

The field trip to the Kokkai Gijidou was so fun and informative!

Most productive aspects included all the extra help the teachers were willing to give and the many activities the school offered.

The trip to the TEPIA technology gallery was the most fun because I am studying computer science. I was very fortunate to be able to see advanced technology and practice some coding.

I found the kanji textbook and its back questions to be very helpful in remembering the kanji. Textbook example sentences offered a concise demonstration of a grammar point.

The most interesting part of this program was becoming friends with students who I could only communicate with in Japanese. It taught me how to exercise my language skills and create friendships at the same time.

I think the conversation portion of class was very helpful. I think it was a great opportunity to practice what we have been learning in class.

I liked having my own bathroom and kitchenette. Very quiet and clean, dorm manager was nice.

I enjoyed the quizzes-they weren’t as difficult as I imagined they’d be. Some teachers went quite fast paced and used more advanced sentence structure which made some moments in class difficult.
